Personal data storage policy
Introduction and purpose
The purpose of this policy is to ensure that JC has procedures in place for processing all personal data in our business relationships with our suppliers, customers and staff in accordance with GDPR – the EU General Data Protection Regulation.
This policy is well established with all of our employees.
The storage of personal data
We collect and store personal data only where it is necessary to enable us to deliver goods and services in a businesslike manner, and where we are obliged to due to public authority decisions, i.e. laws, regulations and directives.
We undertake only to store information necessary to meet the requirements of public authorities and those of our customers, employees and suppliers.
We will not disclose personal data to third parties or otherwise use personal data for purposes it is not intended for without the consent of the person concerned.
Our customers, suppliers and employees’ rights
Our customers, suppliers and employees have the right to request an extract from the register to access the personal data we have stored. This also provides an opportunity to correct any erroneous data or delete any information that is no longer relevant from a business standpoint.
Typical examples are where an employee changes his or her telephone number or where a warranty expires on a purchased product and the customer requests that the personal data used in settling a claim be deleted.
Organisation and responsibility
The CEO has overall responsibility for the content of this policy and for ensuring its compliance by the company. All employees must act in accordance with this policy and what it seeks to safeguard.
